Explanations & Beta!

Hey. I hope you've read the previous 3 posts for some more info about each of the tabs. I just thought I'd fill you in with a little more info.

1. In the settings app on your iPhone, a section for DTR will be added. In this section you can completely customise your DTR, so stop asking if you can! And remember, the settings app will never be replaced, although DTR comes quite close!

2. Triple Tap of the home button brings up the original iPod controls (yay?) :P

3. In November, an OPEN, PUBLIC, beta version is coming (now you can all stop pestering me asking to be beta testers!) Probably! You will be able to download it from here, (not on Cydia - If and when I ever have a final safe version, I will contact Poetic_Folly of MMi as he has kindly offered to host DTR on the MMi repo when it is finished & stable :P) so keep checking back, it may be in November, it may be earlier! It may even be later! So keep checking! Also, This is not definite. But it is highly probable. Again, no word on Final release yet. Not at all. So don't ask. Seriously.

4. if you have any more suggestions for any tab, please comment on the post for that tab, or here, or on the MMi topic :)

5. If you'd like to design an icon for DTR (please? I'm not very good at that :P) post it on the comments of this post! :D (For more information on how the icon will be used.. read the previous post: "Tab 3: Prefs")

6. Please remember! Nothing is final! DTR is constantly changing, as I keep changing my mind and deciding what will look better (You have probably noticed how the screen shots are evolving!) - There are a lot of glitches and bugs that need to be fixed, and the graphics need to be fixed here and there, as you will probably notice if you look closely at the screenshots closely - Feedback would be nice :)

7. I love you all :D

Tab 3: Prefs

Will you still need BossPrefs when you have DTR? Maybe not. This is pretty Self-Explanatory. I added a VPN toggle because it was requested. the DTR icon toggle... When it is on, there will be a DTR icon on your home screen (which I have not yet made, feel free to submit your designs for a bit of fame :P) - this is for people that cannot double tap the home button for whatever reason but still want to use DTR.

Tab 2: Access

Access. For people that have damaged their iPhone and/or for whatever reason cannot use some buttons :) The home buton on the picture of the iphone acts like a real home button (so if you double-tap it, DTR hides and you return to your homescreen or app.)
The 3 check-boxes... Orientation: When checked, Orientation is on. When unchecked, Orientation is off, meaning if you rotate your phone, Safari will not rotate, etc etc. Silent is for people that cannot use the silent toggle on the iPhone for whatever reason. Background... Ah... When checked, whenever you exit an app, it will be backgrounded, so it will still be running. This can be done with 3 apps MAXIMUM - say goodbye to Backgrounder!

Tab 1: Faves

The "Faves" tab. Why Faves? Because I'm French/British and I don't want anybody to have to spell Favourites/Favorites the way they don't want to! :P This tab contains shortcuts to 4 apps that you set. It also scrolls through your upcoming calendar events & your recent sms messages. You can substitute the calendar or sms widget for a email widget, which does the same as the sms widget (but with emails, obviously.) iPod controls float at the bottom, and the sticky note is for taking notes, or just doodling!

Sneak Peak

A more recent screenshot. Still many changes on the way.

DoubleTap Rebirth

Got an iPhone or iPod touch? Bored of the boring iPod controls that pop up when you double tap the Home button? Try a whole new experience - Double tap the Home button at any time, and the status bar extends, giving you quick access to your favorite Apps, your most recent SMS messages and calendar events, sleeker iPod controls, and a place to jot down notes.
DoubleTap Rebirth is mobilesubstrate based, so it is always there when you ened it, and it was inspired by Google Android. One more thing: it's totally customizable.

Please note: I will update this blog occasionally with news, but bear in mind; DoubleTap Rebirth is in the EXTREMELY early and experimental stages. It may never be in a fit state to be released, I'm not a complete expert, and it many never be safe enough. There are tons of bugs at the moment, and loads of improvements that need to be made, and my english is quite bad, so please bear with me :)
